History of Spudniks

Spudniks was born from an inspiration to provide the first ever freshly prepared, seasoned-on-location, served warm potato chip. The Spudniks name has become synonymous with high quality, freshness and innovation in a remarkably short period of time.

Time line:

Two entrepreneurs operating a special events catering company embarked on a mission to uncover an innovative product or service offering to compliment their existing offerings.  Recognizing the advantage of having a premium potato chip cooked to their desired specifications and on-demand - a brainstorming session began and Spudniks was born.



The adventure begins, we began to offer our clients the option of having potato chips seasoned on location at their event through our "Chip Theatre" process- the response was tremendous.



First retail store opened in the YUM (Yorkdale Urban Market) in Yorkdale Mall, Toronto, Ontario. Canada.



Dippin Dots ice cream is added to the Spudniks store in YUM. The Dippin'Dots & Spudniks co-brand was born.



Spudniks enters into the retail/grocery sector in the premium foods market in Toronto, Canada. First stores to include
Pusateri's, Nortown's, Bruno's Fine Foods with several hotels on board.

Co-brand 10 x 12 Sq. Ft. store is opened in Square One Shopping Centre. Mississauga, Ontario. Canada

Co-brand 10 x 12 Sq. Ft. store is opened in Vaughan Mills Shopping Centre. Vaughan, Ontario Canada

Seasonal locations are opened as co-branded kiosks and stores at Wild Water Kingdom and The Canadian National Exhibition. Toronto, Ontario.

Spudniks first launched the concept of serving warm potato chips at Vaughan Mills and never looked back.

Sporting arena locations are opened at John Labbat's Centre, London , Ontario. Canada. As well as KROCK Centre, Kingston, Ontario. Canada.

Retail Kiosk opens at Northgate Square in North Bay, Ontario

First co-branded stores are opened in the U.S. with stores in Franklin, Tennessee, and Cool Springs Mall, Franklin Tennessee, USA.

Our first co-brand retail kiosk opens in Alberta at Crossiron Mills

March 2010

Spudniks Launches their new packaged 5oz Generic bag. Metallic Silver, a new cool way of enjoying our chips.

April 2010

We have introduced a new flavour to market, Cheddar Cheese. Yummy! Go to any retail locations soon and try one.
